The Gran Fondo Virginia will explore the rolling hills, lush scenery and vineyards of Albemarle County, Virginia - birthplace and home of U.S. Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe.
Starting and finishing at Walnut Creek Park, just south of Charlottesville, the GFV offers three courses that suit every level of cyclist: from the approachable (and reasonably flat) 22-mile Piccolo Fondo, to the hilly 61-mile Medio Fondo and the challenging 101-mile Gran Fondo that serves up 6,500 ft. of climbing over the many short,steep hills of southern and eastern Albemarle County.
Route Timing, Neutral Technical Support, Rest Stops featuring local produce and a post-ride party will all contribute to what is sure to become another enduring Virginia tradition!
